This remodel project features a kitchen and a screen porch that was converted into a sunroom. The owners of this traditional log cabin wanted to update their kitchen to give it a more contemporary look and greater functionality. They also had an underused screen porch that they wanted to convert into a sunroom to be enjoyed year-round. The result is a bright, modern, kitchen with smart storage solutions and rustic details that tie in perfectly with the classic log cabin-style home. And they are now able to enjoy the beautiful views from their sunroom throughout the seasons.

Details of this Remodel Project:

Kitchen

• Removed existing cabinets, countertops, and base trim in the kitchen
• Installed custom maple-wood cabinets and new island with extended snack counter, ceramic tile backsplash and granite countertops
• Refinished hardwood flooring in the kitchen, dining room, great room, foyer, and hallways

Screen Porch

• Removed all windows and doors, and all deck, wall, and ceiling boards to prepare for the insulation of the room
• Installed insulation and new drywall on ceiling and walls and framed floor to be even with the existing floor in the dining room
• Installed Pella double-hung windows and Therma Tru door
• Installed ceramic-tile flooring
