PortSide Builders is honored to be a recipient of the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) Badger Craftsman Award, in New Home Design and Construction, in the $500,000 - $750,000 category.
About the WBA Badger Craftsman Awards
This state-wide competition is open to all members of the Wisconsin Builders Association (almost 900 builder members, approximately 2,500 associate members). Build projects are judged on design, quality of construction, attention to detail, use of materials, price to value, functionality, and creativity. "Our members are true professionals and experts at their craft," said WBA Director of Communications Alicia Naleid. "We are excited to have this opportunity for the public to weigh in on their favorites, and to show off the details and features of home-building projects all across the state."
Details About the Award-Winning Home Design
Situated on a unique waterfront property, a private peninsula offering panoramic views of the bay of Green Bay, the award-winning, custom-built PortSide home is thoughtfully designed and positioned to take full advantage of the majestic views from nearly every room in the house. Alan Shefchik, PortSide’s Custom Home Designer, worked closely with the homeowners to design a home that aligned with their vision, accommodated a waterfront lifestyle, and met their needs for space and functionality. Added to this was the challenge of having to work with the original footprint of the former family cottage and the zoning constraints of the lot.
This award-winning waterfront home is a fine example of why PortSide Builders has earned its reputation as experts in lake and country home design and construction. “I enjoy working with the homeowners, designing homes to meet their needs and dreams. This experience was no exception”, said Shefchik. “Taking into consideration zoning and setback requirements, along with the beautiful views, we were able to design a home that showcases all the best this lot has to offer. To be recognized among some of the best in the state with the Badger Craftsman Award is truly an honor.”
The official announcement was made on June 21st at the WBA Celebration of Housing event at the Wintergreen Conference Center, Wisconsin Dells.
