PortSide Builders is proud to feature the "PortSide Family Christmas Tree" in the 2018 "Merry-Time Festival of Trees" sponsored by the Door County Maritime Museum, in Sturgeon Bay. Our tree is meant to highlight the "family" relationship between PortSide's owners/employees, our customers, and our trade partners. At the same time, we take this opportunity to honor PortSide family member, Joe Porten, our co-worker and friend, who we lost this summer to cancer.
The PortSide Family Christmas Tree
We think Joe would have loved this simple, unique, yet elegant tree, made with re-purposed wood, and decorated with ornaments hand-made by PortSide employees, as well as gift certificates for local restaurants and stores, donated by our trade partners and sub-contractors in Joe's memory. The tree was recently highlighted in a WFRV-TV, Local 5 Live segment, promoting the Maritime Museum's event, where PortSide President, Paul Shefchik, explained the story of our tree. All 28 trees displayed in the festival will be given away through a raffle drawing, along with live and silent auctions featuring interesting and valuable Door County themed items, at the "Jingle, Jingle, Mix and Mingle" event on December 11th.
