Custom Design ~ New Construction ~ Remodeling ~ Additions
We decided to build our vacation home, but we had no idea which builder to use because we were not that familiar with the area. We talked with several residents and one name kept coming up–PortSide Builders. We went to one of the open houses conducted by PortSide and met Alan. We were impressed with Alan and the home they were showing and arranged to meet at his office. After getting to know Alan and the company, we were impressed and decided to work with them. Our decision was the right one. We worked with Alan on everything from lot selection, to overall design and many of the specific features we chose for our house; we worked with Dawn on all of our design selections; and we worked with Mark throughout construction. It was a seamless process and the result was a beautiful, well-built home that was on time and on budget. We strongly recommend using PortSide whenever we are asked.
“PortSide Builders did an excellent job rebuilding and expanding my deck. They managed a myriad of critical details while completing my project, including checking setback requirements, offering material and design options, and communicating with me regularly as critical steps of the project were being completed. My new deck is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined it would be.”
“We knew building a new house was a big project. Thanks to the professionals at PortSide, we now have our forever home! Our Custom Designer worked with us to design everything we need now and in the future. Our Construction Coordinator was patient but kept us on schedule when we needed it. They worked well together and with all the subcontractors. Thanks for our first, forever home!”
From our first consultation and throughout the entire remodel of our lake house, PortSide Builders was a trusted partner. Their professionalism, knowledge, experience and attention to detail resulted in a top quality finished product. The entire staff at PortSide really care about their customers and projects. We are extremely pleased with our newly remodeled home and highly recommend PortSide Builders.
From the beginning, when we first started working with Zach on our design plan and throughout the build process, we have been more than satisfied with PortSide Builders. When PortSide says that they want to make the build process an easy and enjoyable experience, they truly mean that.
They have excellent subcontractors that do an outstanding job and everyone has an incredible attention to detail.
We are very, very pleased with PortSide Builders and would recommend them to anyone! We never imagined that our new home would be this incredibly beautiful. Thank you, PortSide, for building us this incredible dream home!
Jon and I are so pleased with the addition PortSide Builders completed for us last year. We needed more space and were so pleased that Joe was able to help accomplish more than we ever expected. He listened to or plans and gave us what we hoped for and more. When we struggled with certain design details he helped by encouraging us to visit some finished PortSide homes in the area. His suggestion helped us visualize and decide how we wanted to design our fireplace as well as place windows for maximum light. Joe was eager to help but always listened and followed our lead. We are so proud of the results and owe him a great deal of the credit. Without his patience and experience we would never have had the outcome that we love.
Loved working with PortSide. Kurt is very knowledgable, and has great ideas and recommendations. Kurt is wonderful to work with, as well as being very patient and understanding as the build is going on.
Thank you for the outstanding job you have performed building our new home in Egg Harbor. Special thanks to Alan Shefchik in the initial sales and conceptual phase for working with us when the competition walked away. Alan was extremely helpful and talented in capturing and enhancing our design objectives. We also appreciate the great help we received in product selection. Also a very special thanks to Jim Englebert for leading an outstanding construction process. We were especially impressed with the timely communication throughout construction. Jim was extremely responsive throughout the construction and post construction phases. Thanks to all of the dedicated workers and the subcontractors for working safely, your professionalism, workmanship, dedication and attention to detail in building our new home. Your dedication shows in the finished product.
PortSide was the perfect builder for us. I recognized them from years of seeing their name about the Peninsula but I wondered if PortSide was too big of a company to want to bother with single home construction without a splashy budget. I was dead wrong. Not only did Alan Shefchik at PortSide welcome us warmly each time we met, but he guided us with expert advice, spelled out the costs to stay on budget and kept any fears and concerns in check. PortSide’s showroom clinched it. I am a visual person and it was extremely beneficial to see examples and feel and touch products. Every single person that worked on building our house was professional, friendly and excellent at their job. Mark Shefchik, our site manager, always kept us up to date and informed. His listening skills are remarkable as he followed any requests we asked of PortSide. Dawn Shefchik was invaluable turning our house into a home. We could not have made all the decisions flow without her expertise. Colors, finish, style, scale – – – it can all make your head spin. Dawn helped us pull it all together to create a place to love. And love it we do. Thanks PortSide.
I want to thank the PortSide team for completing our large, 1,000+ Sq/Ft remodel. It has exceeded our wildest expectations. This was a large undertaking touching many aspects of our home and it was completed with attention to detail and with understanding to our families schedules and routines during construction. From the time of consultation and estimation, through execution and completion, you were on time and on budget. Our family can’t say enough about the additional usable space.
We have hosted many more get togethers than we could have before the remodel, and look forward to the new memories we will create in the new space for years to come.
Thank you so much.

PortSide Builders has been more than just a construction company for us. They made us feel like family. PortSide was with us every step of the way. From home design, to lot purchase, referring us to a loan officer, answering questions, and making our dream home a reality. We definitely made a connection with our Home Designer, Zach Juadis, and feel we have made a friend for life. Thank you for helping us every step of the way to build our dream home!
People ask what we would do differently. Well, we wouldn’t do anything differently. Our Custom Designer / Building Consultant really captured our imagination with the design of the home. Our Coordinator’s experience was invaluable. His buidling genius was a huge help every step of the way.
Words cannot adequately describe our pleasure working with PortSide Builders on the project of our new home. From our initial meeting with Alan Shefchik, our Custom Designer, we knew we had made the right decision. Alan was great to work with in laying out the plans and, because of his building expertise, was able to add suggestions each step of the way. It has been our pleasure and we highly recommend PortSide for all your building needs.
We have been extremely impressed with the services provided by PortSide Builders. At the beginning of our project they provided us with a work schedule and they always kept to the schedule. When we had a question or concern it was immediately addressed. Most of the time issues were addressed even before we mentioned them. We are extremely happy with PortSide and would recommend this company to anyone contemplating home remodeling, roof replacement or any other type of building project.
Our coordinator was excellent. He was very accommodating to all of our needs. He always had a quick response for us while we were building. Even now, after being in our home for awhile, he continues to respond to our questions and requests promptly. The quality home PortSide built for us is wonderful, and the customer service is priceless.
In addition to PortSide building our house in 2007, this project was the fourth one they done for us. We keep coming back to PortSide for good reasons. They are customer focused and responsive, they stick to a schedule, and they perform quality work for a fair price. If we undertake a fifth project, we will definitely be contacting PortSide again.
Building a house was a huge decision. We met our Custom Designer, Zach, when attending a parade of homes. He was the only builder we met who took the time to talk to us and acted interested at all. We have had pretty much unfettered access daily to our Construction Coordinator, Joe. We are really proud of our new PortSide home and just as proud to tell others that PortSide built it.
We have had a really wonderful experience building with PortSide from the initial planning through construction. Everyone we have worked with has been very professional and went out of their way to make sure that our vision for the home became a reality. We are really excited about the finished product and would gladly recommend PortSide.
As homeowners who have built a house in the past, we can attest to the fact that PortSide is best in class in all areas as a builder. They were extremely responsive, went out of their way to provide solutions, and kept everything on schedule. They provide a full service, from top to bottom, with the highest levels of quality and satisfaction. We would absolutely give PortSide and the people who work there a 5-stair rating. They literally handled everything from start to finish to our immense pleasure and satisfaction.
