Remodel of the Month
Deck Renovation Has Long-Lasting Weatherproof Materials and Provides Clear View of the Lake
This month’s featured project is a transformation of a lakeside cedar deck. The original space had a large pergola, solid quarter-walls, and built-in benches that, while functional, created a visual barrier between the home and the water. The cedar wood decking was also begining to show a bit of wear and tear. They were looking for a low-maintenance, long-lasting deck with a clean, open design. By replacing the old wood with weatherproof Trex composite decking and a minimalist cable railing system, this deck will remain beautiful for the life of the home.
The result is a sleek, contemporary outdoor living space with a better layout that provides stunning, unobstructed views of the water.
